Waters are Beauty’s glances—
Which, on the lucky ones, fall.
Mountains are Her painted brows,
Not looking painted at all.
If you ask a traveler,
Where he is going and why,
“To see mountains and waters;
To see Beauty’s brow and eye.”
Now, we’ve just seen Spring off.
To be sent off, ‘tis your turn.
If you catch Spring in Jiangnan,
To live with him, you must learn.
